BOLLYWOOD CAN WAIT, SAY MISS INDIA WINNERS!
till we bring home the International crowns! Yes, that's what the three winning beauties of Pantaloons Femina Miss India announce, as they make the first appearance post the pageant, today here at Novotel, Mumbai.
With heads held high and crowns secured the confident winners- PFMI World, Manasvi Mamgai, PFMI Earth, Nicole Faria and PFMI International, Neha Hinge are beaming with confidence as they pose for the shutterbugs. If you want to witness what 'living your dream' can do to you, a look at these girls is enough to tell the tale of victory!
So, how have been the three days since you won the titles? "It was the next day that the feeling actually sank in. And since then, we have been enjoying the reassurance of our achievement with congratulatory phone calls and messages," shares Manasvi clad in a strawberry red short dress.
International dreams unlimited
It took them years of dreaming and 40 days of hard core training to reach, where they have. So, they refreshing break is something they deserve indeed. But surprisingly enough, they are in mood to waste time. "My pageant will be the first one, so I have already started with the training. But still, spending some quality time with my family, which I haven't done for so long is definitely on my 'to-do' list," says PFMI International, Neha Hinge, looking stunning in a yellow short number.
"They are taking us out to Fiji. So, before I get into the preparation mode, I simply want to let my hair down at this break," gushes a happy Manasvi, who is already getting excited about the trip.
PFMI Earth, Nicole Faria, dressed in an off white dress, has nothing but preparation on her mind when she says, "Sitting and enjoying won't take me where I want. There's no time to waste. Every passing day I'll educate myself to get closer to the crown." Point noted girl!
But why did we fail to bring home the crowns in so many years? "Well, because we weren't there," jokes Manasvi, adding, "I won't say there was a slack in the training, because the kind of grooming a girl gets at Miss India, she becomes an all together different person. May be the luck didn't favor them during the deciding moment, says Nicole.
Bollywood, not now!
Despite the fact that Bollywood associated itself with Pantaloons Femina Miss India in a big way this year, and also that the beauties are no less Bollywood fans, but still they want to wait to break off into Hindi cinema. "Right now our prime focus is on winning the International pageants. All our energies are diverted to a single goal for now - 'winning the International titles.' And till that time, I think everything else in our lives can take a back seat. So, b'wood is definitely not the immediate next step for us."
However, once the girls live the BIG dream, of bringing home the International crown, they have no qualms going the B-twon way. "I love singing, dancing and all the melodrama of Bollywood. So, I would love to go for it if good offers come my way, but of course after proving myself in the International Pageants," quips Manasvi. And as far as theor fav actors are concerened, just like other young bubbly girls, even their hearts beat for, who else but SRK and Salman Khan!
Beauty with a cause
Apart from being a testimony to their looks, brains and the fact that they are over and above the other Indian girls, what else did crown mean to them? Answer Manasvi and Nicole together, "It means responsibility to us, it means duty to us" and Manasvi joins saying, "we will be representing our country now on, isn't it a responsibility big enough?"
International pageants and Bollywood are not the only things on the girls minds. While Neha Hinge, a Hindi language lover at heart, wouldn't mind tryingher hands at politics, Manasvi, who was also the winner of 'Beauty with a cause' title would like to work in the field of education. And last but not the least, Nicole Faria wants to give back to the planet.
"I want to promote Hindi language in the country. I chose to introduce myself to the country not in English but in Hindi on the final on the day of pageant because I wanted to give out the message that I am proud of our National language, says Neha Hinge.
As I will be competing in the Miss earth Pageant, I would like to take it as an oppurtunity to send out the 'save the plant' message to the world. Not with massive meaures but by doing the simplest of things at individual level like switching off the lights, saving water etc. I believe that if everyone makes a small effort, we will make a huge difference for sure. Our planet has given so much to us, it's our turn to give it back now!,"shares Nicole.
Manasvi, who is also the winner of 'Beauty with a purpose' subtitle, wants to do justice to the title bestowed upon her. "Since childhood, I have gown up in an environment where 'education' has been given prime importance. So, taking it forward from there I would like to work in the field of education."
No Miss Universe
The going away of the Miss Universe title from the pageant as it will now be selected through a pageant titles 'I Am She' under the guidance of former Miss niverse Sushmita Sen, it was a natural progression for the Miss World title to become the highest. But that doesn't make much of a difference to Manasvi, for the girl had different plans for herself. "With all my wishes for Sushmita Sen for her endeavour, I would like to tell that I always wanted to become the Miss World and more importantly it was the brand 'Femina Miss India' that enticed me to be here.
Well said girl! No wonders the trio is a perfect combo of beauty with brains!
